Presented by The Masque of La Salle as part of 2025 Philly Theatre Week!
Did you hear the word? What’s the word? He’s a-coming! Who’s a-coming? Paul’s a-coming, the star of the show!
Paul is just a regular guy. He gets up, goes to work, and drinks black coffee on his breaks. Oh, and Paul hates musicals. In fact, the idea of being trapped watching a musical is just about his worst nightmare, though he doesn’t yet know how true that is. When a mysterious meteor crashes to Earth in Paul’s hometown of Hatchetfield, something sinister begins happening to its inhabitants. Suddenly bosses, baristas, coworkers, and cops are singing and dancing choreographed numbers. Is it a flash mob? A new political movement? Or is it the end of the world as we know it?
As a musical pandemic sweeps through Hatchefield turning everyone Paul knows into zombified, jazz-stepping members of an alien hivemind, only one person can save the world. He may just be a regular guy who goes to work and drinks black coffee, but boy oh boy does he hate musicals.
